New Semester

Haven't written in a while, however not too much has been going on..we have started a new semester at school...I absolutely love my new professors this semester..so much better than the ones I had this summer, in terms of teaching ability and fun. Yes, I said fun, regardless ofyour age, you always need a little fun in your day. I especially love my new zoology professor, I wish I could take him for every class I need thru med school...but he only teaches, two of the classes I need. So I will enjoy him while I can.

My Tastefully Simple business has been going great. I had several parties this summer, and now that our new summer line begins this week, I know it's going to be a great holiday season. My open house will be towards the end of Sepetember, so I am getting those invitations ready as we speak.

I have had a little time to scrap..well alot of time to scrap actually...I completed about 45 layouts during August, as well as 20 swap cards and various other small projects..

My 3 albums that span 1999-2007 are completed. 2008, is completed so far with the exception of my sister in laws baby shower and my new niece.

My niece arrived Saturday, August 23rd by emergency c-section. Both mom and baby are doing just fine. Thank you for all your prayers, they are definitely appreciated.

Well let me get back to studying, and I will write soon.

Winding down

So, I have been super busy with school, this semester, that I haven't been able to scrap as uch as I would like, but I squeeze in a few cards and layouts each day. This semester ends August 1st, so in less than 2 weeks, I will have some more free time. Well at least till the new semester starts on August 12th.

I added a few new additions to this my slide show this morning, more to come.

Getting Motivated...

Well, I have to say I am proud of myself..today when I got back from my classes, I stayed off the computer long enough to stamp approx. 6 cards and I made 3 others with stickers. I still have all of my things out, to go back and finish a few more, before I head to bed. I am going to try to postsome pictures, in a little bit.

Now mind you, most of my cards are very simple, however I just purchased approx. $150 worth of stamps and more sizzix dies in the last three days, so I will be getting busy for sure. My goal is to start creating cards that are a little busier and have more layers. I also love the black accent look, that I see on a lot of cards these days, I just have to purchase some black cardstock. Which mind you I s in AC Moore today, and should have picked it up then, but I was enthralled in the sidewalk sale in the middle of the store that had tons of sizzix and cuttlebug for less than $10 each, some as low as $2.00. Not as if I needed anything else because yesterday I bought tons of stamps on sale online at www.apeekintoyesterday.com They are having a wonderful sale...so I just helped myself. Now mind you, not that I am enabling, by any means, but you MUST go look at her site. She has tons of products for 75% off. I got $80 worth of stamps for only $27.19 including shipping. These are quality clear stamps, some were from Doodlebug Designs, Rubber Sole, and a few other companies.

Well let me get back to making cards and I will post soon.

A Little About Me

I am Marciava, (pronounced Marcy-Ava), I live in Fayetteville, NC. I am 30...I was a substitute teacher in the public schools for 6 years, subbing for mostly middle and high school. I was a 3rd grade assistant teacher in the public school for 3 years, and I was a 3rd grade teacher at a private school for a year.I have a business degree, an elementary education degree, a history degree, and I am working on my masters in nursing, now. My long term goal is to open my own medical center with my Nurse Practitioner degree in a few years when I finish. I work fulltime from home as a Tastefully Simple Team Leader which allows me to spend more time with my husband and daughters. I am an avid scrapper and stamper. I have been scrapbooking and stamping for 11 years.

I have two daughters, one going to the 4th grade and one going to the 5th grade. My husband and I have honestly had it with the public schools here. I was born and raised here in Fayetteville, and I have watched the schools deteriorate over the years. Many times it is not the teachers fault, but they are pressured, over worked, and lack parental support in many areas. So with that being said, we have decided to home school our children beginning this fall. Fortunately for us, I already had tons of school, and teacher related products, books, reproducibles, etc from being a teacher. So starting out won't be too hard for us, my biggest concern was that the girls would lack socially. Which is why I have joined a few homeschooling groups. I want to try to network with other home schools, to see what activities they have, field trips etc. We are definitely in this for the long haul, not just a year or so. Our eventual plan is to open a private school here in town, to give other parents an affordable alternative to public school. However that will be a few years from now after I get my medical practice open.

We are a Christian family, however the school is registered as a non-religious school. We attend two churches, one on Sundays and Tuesdays..my husband's home church, whom which I love. And then a different church on Wednesdays, my home church, because I love the Missionettes program my children are in. So my daughters will receive some interaction during the week there, as well as ballet classes.

On my blog you will see information, as well as my paper crafting creations for review and sale. Please feel free to leave me a comment or thought.
